The Commercial Dairy Ranchers Association of Nigeria (CODARAN) was incorporated by five Promoters (who constitute its Board of Trustees) at the Corporate Affairs Commission, on the 24th day of January 2017 in Abuja, Nigeria. CODARAN is the nationwide apex body and collective voice for the interests of indigenous commercial dairy producers, ranch operators and dairy farmers of small, medium and large-scale. CODARAN is a non-political membership organization.
Our efforts are aimed at:
To be the foremost, globally recognized association for professionalism, advocacy, and promotion of quality nutritious dairy products across Africa made from local resources.
To actively build networks of supports for Nigerian Dairy value chain operators through policy advocacy and business actions that foster growth, development and ultimate transformation of the sector into a major contributor to the national economy.
The missions provide opportunity for dairy stakeholders across the entire dairy value chain to learn world class practices, technologies and solutions in the dairy industry, and to transfer this knowledge and skills to help propel Nigerian dairy to the next level by leveraging on business partnerships.
International dairy conferences will aggregate farmers, companies, investors, research institutes, regulators, policy makers, and other stakeholders in the livestock and dairy industry. It provides participants an opportunity for valuable networking and knowledge sharing to access the large Nigerian dairy market and Africa’s booming dairy industry.
Members are companies actively involved in various aspects of the livestock and dairy value chain. Membership is by institution, not by individual, with an institutional representative designated to participate and make decisions on its behalf. Each member has one vote and the designated representative shall be allowed to hold elected office in CODARAN. Once in elected office, the individual holds the office, not his company. All member organizations must be in good standing, legally registered, and truly representative of its sector.
